The Father and the Son have linked their hands with those of the Guide:
know that the three are Body, Soul, and Spirit.


The 1556 Figure shows the Guide (Spirit) dressed in silver.  The King and Prince are dressed in gold and red.  In the background is an observer dressed in Nigredo.

The 1607 version has the Guide in silver and the King in Gold.  The Prince is in Gold and Red.  The observer in the background is not dressed in an obvious color.

The 1893 version has the King carrying a Wand (Fire) and the Prince carrying a Sword (Air). 


The Spirit [Guide] dissolves the Body [the Father],
and in the Dissolution extracts the Soul [the Son] of the Body…
