Here you behold a great marvel–
two Lions are joined into one.
The Spirit and the Soul must be united in their Body.
The 1556 Figure has the Gold Lion and the Silver Lioness walking in unison, facing the same direction, with the same paw lifted. The trees are still paired, but now cross over each other twice.
The 1607 version has a gold lion and a silver (or white) lion, though the silver lion appears larger and has a mane and the gold lion appears smaller and does not have a mane.
The 1893 version has the Lions walking in the same direction, but with opposite paws lifted. The Lion faces the viewer directly; the Lioness looks at the Lion.
